Trial Attorney | Advocate | Community Leader
Scott T. McArdle, who is is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi, is a seasoned trial attorney and co-founder of McArdle & Whitman, P.C., bringing nearly three decades of legal experience to the courtroom and to his clients.
A 1996 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, Mr. McArdle began his legal career with distinction, clerking for Justice H. Mark Kennedy of the Supreme Court of Alabama.
Since entering private practice, Mr. McArdle has dedicated his career to representing injury victims—both children and adults—in a broad range of serious personal injury matters, including automobile, motorcycle, and 18-wheeler accidents, wrongful death cases, and product liability. He also has extensive experience in complex litigation, insurance law and bad faith claims, eminent domain, and construction prompt-pay litigation.
Mr. McArdle spent years at one of Alabama’s largest personal injury law firms, where he ultimately managed a caseload of over 600 clients at a time. While his work there earned him professional respect, it also inspired a different vision: to build a law firm where every client receives personalized attention and compassionate service. That vision became a reality with the founding of McArdle & Whitman, P.C., alongside his co-founding partner, Misha Whitman.
Mr. McArdle is recognized as a noted advocate by the National College of Advocacy. He was a member of the litigation team that achieved the largest verdict in Alabama history at the time—$395 million—and he has secured verdicts and settlements exceeding $1 billion over his career.
Mr. McArdle's service extends beyond the courtroom. He served as legal counsel to the Alabama Senate Commerce, Transportation, and Utilities Committee, as well as the Alabama House of Representatives Health Committee. He is an active member of the American Association for Justice and the Alabama and Mississippi Associations for Justice, where he is frequently called upon by peers to share trial strategies and litigation insight.
In recognition of his dedication to justice, charity and community, Mr. McArdle was honored to be named in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 as a Finalist for the prestigious Trial Lawyers Care Award from the American Association for Justice. He served as Chairman of the Board for Make-A-Wish Alabama from 2012 until 2018 was a Core Group Member of the legendary Coach Nick Saban's Nick’s Kids Charity, and is the founder of Scott’s Tots, an initiative that promotes child safety through campaigns such as the distribution of “Slow: Children at Play” yard signs and anti-distracted driving programs.
Mr. McArdle is married to Kendra McArdle, a school teacher from Thomasville, Georgia. Together, they have four children: J.T., Kallie, Mimi, and Emma. Kendra and Scott are also blessed with their loyal four-legged children Sage (Weimaraner) and Bella (Golden Doodle).
